Jonny Southard is a modern classical pianist and composer from the UK. He started piano at age 6 and since, music has remained a central part of his life through and beyond his studies at postgraduate level.
Growing up, Jonny's interest in a variety of music planted the seeds for a diverse range of musical influences, including the folk-like harmonies you hear in some of his music today. After 13 years of classical piano training, combined with a fascination of music's power to trigger emotion, the sound world he creates today bridges the gap between the ambience of film soundtracks and the elegance of impressionism.
With a distinct depth of emotion, Jonny's uniquely sensitive works epitomise the piano’s ability to elicit reflection of the human soul, with bright and beautiful melodies thriving inside a passionate and melancholic sound world.
Driven by a dedicated fanbase, Jonny's independent releases have received worldwide recognition, with over 44 million streams on Spotify alone. He has appeared on numerous compilations including Dear, Piano and Recollections Vol. 1 to Recollections Vol. 10.
Jonny has worked with other notable artists including Jesse Brown, Brique a Braq and We Dream of Eden.
